Connecting Claude or another MCP agent
How your own AI agents reach Opvelo over MCP, which tools they can use, and how changes are guarded.
Your team already works with AI. You can connect Claude, or any agent that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), to Opvelo. It can then look up orders, check a shipment, pull a sales report, draft a newsletter or answer a finance question, using the same tools Opvelo’s own agents use.
What your agent can reach
Opvelo offers 60+ tools across orders, shipping, returns, finance, content, SEO and analytics. Your agent never gets all of them automatically. The tools it’s served are:

- Only tools marked as available to outside agents are offered.
- Only tools from the modules you’ve turned on are included.
- Tools that change data are guarded by your policies.
How to connect
Access is set up per store. Contact us to have it enabled; we’ll give you the connection details. In Claude, you add Opvelo as a custom connector with those details, then sign in with your Opvelo account and approve access. Your agent acts on your store only.
Skills
Skills are step-by-step processes that Claude or your own agents run through Opvelo’s tools, such as demand planning, a supplier delivery check or a month-end close. Skills and the Opvelo Marketplace are in early access.
