Cash on delivery and courier payouts

When a cash-on-delivery order counts as paid, and how courier, marketplace and card payouts are matched to your bank.

When is a COD order paid?

Only when the money reaches your bank. A delivered parcel, or a courier status saying the cash was transferred, isn’t enough: Opvelo marks a cash-on-delivery order paid once the courier’s payout has landed in your bank account. Nothing is assumed, and nothing is forgotten.

Between delivery and that moment, the order is delivered but still waiting for its money.

Payouts

A payout is one transfer to your bank from someone who collected money for you: a courier, a marketplace or Shopify Payments. For each payout Opvelo shows:

  • Gross, fees and net
  • The orders or parcels it covers
  • The bank transfer it was matched to

Every currency is kept separate.

Matching to the bank

Opvelo reads your bank statements and matches each payment in or out to its invoice, payout or tax. When it isn’t sure, it proposes a match for you to confirm with one click. A matched courier payout then marks its orders paid in your books.

When something doesn’t add up

A parcel delivered but never paid out, a payout that doesn’t match its parcels, a bank transfer with no payout: each one is flagged with the evidence, never quietly adjusted.
